Free tablet scheme for student is a new scheme of West Bengal state. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has started this scheme on 3rd December, 2020. As we all know, coronavirus pandemic is going on. Education department is the one of most affect department due to this. So, West Bengal State Government has decided to distribute free tablet to over 9.5 lakh students in the state. Under this scheme, the beneficiary gets one tab each in this Free Tablet Scheme. Only those students who are studying in class 12 in government schools, government-aided schools and madrasas will get this free tab for themselves. Every secondary school will get computers for online education.

Scheme Benefits
- The main benefit is to over 9.5 lakh students in the state. They will get free tablet to study online.
- More than 25000 higher secondary schools and madrasa will get benefit under this scheme.
- More than 78000 Government and Government Aided secondary schools will get benefit under this scheme.
- Students don't need to pay anything to get this tablet from state government.
Eligibility Criteria
The students who want to get free tab for themselves, have to fulfill following conditions:
- Only Permanent resident of West Bengal can apply for this scheme.
- Application who are studying in government or government aided school, can apply for this scheme.
- Only Class 12th students can apply.
- Student family income can not exceed RS 2 lakh per annum.
- The Student must have cleared all previous examinations.

West Bengal state government has not launched any online portal to apply for this scheme. But when it launched, you have to follow the below procedure for that:
- First of all, you have to open the official website of the West Bengal State education department.
- Now, you can see a link to apply online for the scheme. Click on that link.
- An application form will appear on your screen. Now, you have to fill that application form carefully.
- After that, you have to upload all required document with application.
